Week 2
This week, we'll talk about some of the "visual" elements you can add to your wiki, web page, blog, etc. There are many sites out there offering free (or low-cost) enhancements. Most are quite easy to learn and use. Others take more effort.
These programs/apps/sites will enable you to create visual enhancements such as photo albums, movies, and so on.

PADLET
This is a free web site that enables users to "post" screen shots, graphics, and docs to a personal "wall." This is the program you'll use to send me screenshots of the 4-5 social media sites you'll create for this class. We'll briefly cover the basics; visit the Padlet subpage on this site for more info. |
JING
Jing is a free and easy-to-learn app that enables users to share images and short videos from their computer screens (known as screen capture). The free version is limited to five minutes. |
PREZI
Prezi is cloud-based, meaning you can present from your browser, desktop, iPad, or iPhone and always have the latest version of your work at your fingertips. Think of it as an interactive PowerPoint. And like PowerPoint, it offers lots of bells and whistles. Be careful not to overdo it, though! Just because Prezi allows you to twirl and zip across the screen, think of your poor viewers and take it easy. This presentation and storytelling tool is ideal for presenting ideas on a virtual canvas by using a zooming user interface. This lets users zoom in and out of their presentation. |
