Learning objectives
This class is an "overview" in that many different sites, apps, and strategies are presented. An overall social media presence is never one that can be created and then left alone. It must always be perfected. What may have been adequate for your purpose will undoubtedly change over the months (and years!).
With that caveat in mind, I envision the learning objectives of this course to include:

- Selecting tools to monitor information and to consolidate it into a manageable information stream.
- Creating, maintaining, and managing a public online presence throughout the course.
- Understanding the importance of monitoring and responding to the community that forms around your message or lack of message.
- Examining how the choice of social network and social media tools affects the distribution of the message and the audience that is reached.
- Formulating a personal social media plan.
